Drue William Allen of Newport News, VA., died March 14, 2008. He was born January 13, 1953 in Texarkana, Texas. Survivors include his mother, Geneva Allen of Hot Springs, AR.; two sisters, Bobbie Holiman of Grand Rapids, MI. and Sharon Gray of Springfield, MO. and one brother, Rick Allen of Dallas, TX. Drue was also a loving uncle to 10 nieces and nephews.
Drue, a military Vietnam veteran, was known as a local prominent business owner in Newport News, VA, and served on the board of directors of Safe Haven, an organization for battered women. He touched the lives of many and will be remembered as a giving person with a huge heart for others. Drue was considered the caregiver of his entire family and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, March 19th, in Newport News, VA. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, March 21st, at the Damascus Cemetery, Hwy. 9 Malvern, AR.
