Dusty Rhoads, age 46, of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and also Northern Arkansas, passed away Monday, August 24, 2020, after a courageous fight with cancer. He was born August 4, 1974 to Robert Rhoads and Joyce Asher Thompson in Malvern, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his mother; and sister, Shirlene Gills.
Dusty played football for Whitehall school district, and was the MVP for baseball in Lead Hill, Arkansas. He had many hobbies: he loved watching wrestling, gaming, working on cars, trucks, boats, stereos, computers, and could fix just about anything. He was highly creative and was a wonderful artist. Dusty won many awards for his artwork and was displayed in galleries. He was a wonderful cook and was the family’s grilling man. He also loved fishing, playing games with family, puzzles, and had a soft spot for animals.
Dusty is survived by his father, Robert Rhoads of Gamaliel, Arkansas; step-parent, Patsie Rhoads of Gamaliel, Arkansas; brother, Roy McKim of Donaldson, Arkansas; sister, Kristi Thompson of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; step-sister, Julie Saldivar of Jonesboro, Arkansas; step-father, J.D. Thompson of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; two nephews, Kori Gills of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Kamron Gills of Friendship, Arkansas; and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Graveside Memorial Service will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Ouachita Cemetery near Donaldson, Arkansas.
