Dwight Carpenter age 73, of the Vaden Community near Arkadelphia, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in Little Rock. He was born June 12, 1944 to the late J. D. and Hollagene Senn Carpenter. Dwight was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Dwight was an retired teacher, teaching at Bearden Middle School for several years. He loved children and enjoyed being Santa Claus for local schools, friends and neighbors.
Survivors are his wife of fifty-two years, Brenda Leamons Carpenter; one son, Jerry Carpenter; three granddaughters, Alyssa Carpenter, Elizabeth Ann Thompson and Morgan Robertson; two sisters, Vada Frances and Alicia Solito.
Memorial services will be at 3:30 PM Wednesday, January 17th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with Josh Leu officiating. Visitation will be 3:00 PM Wednesday until service time.
