Earl Walker

Earl Dean Walker, 82, of Ward, passed away on August 25, 2023.  He was born on July 17, 1941, in Ward, AR to Eddie and Ada Walker.  He was a 1959 graduate of Cabot High School.  Other than Ward, he also lived in North Little Rock in the Amboy community for around ten years, Mount Vernon/El Paso over 30 years, Cabot for five years, and finally in Lonoke in a nursing home in the last year of his life.

Earl enjoyed growing summer vegetables in his garden, but he really loved growing flowers.  He loved irises, and he was most fond of daylilies.  When family or friends would visit, he took much joy in walking through the garden to show what was in bloom.

Out of high school, Earl worked in a bicycle factory in North Little Rock.  He later worked for Gordon Jewelers for many years.  He finally worked at Remington Arms for 30 years from which he retired in 2003 where he enjoyed the camaraderie with fellow employees.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Tommy Walker of Jacksonville; his sister, Ruby Bayles of Ward; and his sister, Carol Croy of Enola.  He is survived by his four children:  his daughter, Cherri Wilson of Quitman; his son, Tim Walker of Ward; his daughter, Tammy Daigle (husband, Lee) of Cabot; and his son, Pat Walker (wife, Kim) of Antioch; eight grandchildren: Brandon Wilson (wife, Danielle); Zachary Perry (wife, Emily); Kristen Walker; Kaden Walker; Maya Stephenson (husband, Tony); Colton Perry; Josiah Chase Walker; and Selah Walker; and two great grandchildren: Wade Wilson; and Winry Wilson.

There will be no public memorial service.  Earl's ashes will be spread at a gathering of family and close friends at a later date.  Memories and notes of sympathy can be shared on the Smith Family Funeral Homes Celebrating Life page. www.smithfamilycares.com/westbrook.  Cremation arrangements by Smith Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W Dewitt Henry, Beebe, Arkansas.
