Earnest Lee "Snake" Lavender, age 68, of Shelton, Washington, formerly of Norman, died Saturday, June 1, 2013. He was born on November 28, 1944 at Sapulpa, Oklahoma, the son of Cenona Haber Lavender and Ruby Mae Brooks Lavender. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wilma Faye Lavender; his sister, Nelda Jean Lavender; and his niece, Katie "Katins" Lavender. Earnest was a Baptist in his faith and was employed by Weyerhaeuser for thirteen years. He enjoyed watching westerns and he walked everywhere he went, never driving a vehicle. He is survived by four children, Carol Lavender, Patti Lavender, Lonnie Lavender and Curtis Lavender, all of Shelton, Washington; one brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Melba Lavender of Norman; one niece, Reva Vaughn and her husband, Jared, of Caddo Gap; one nephew, Steven Lavender of Norman; and several cousins. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, June 17, 2013 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Larry Welch officiating. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
