Edith Manus

Edith Linder Manus, 93, of Dardanelle, Arkansas, passed from this life Tuesday, March 22, 2011. The daughter of Arthur and Maggie Linder, she was born February 25, 1919 in Bristow, Oklahoma. She grew up in McRae, Arkansas. She was "big sister" to nine siblings. She married Leon Manus in November of 1939 in Phoenix, Arizona. They raised their two children in Mt. View, California. After she was widowed in 1975, she returned home to Arkansas. Edith later married and was widowed by Charles Mills, Charles Tucker, and Grover Niswonger.

An avid reader, she always had a book in her hand. She also had a passion for her flower garden, family, family history, and especially children. Her last years were spent in the Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was an active member of the Pentecostal Church. She was bold in her faith; generous with her love and affection; and steadfast in prayer. "When I'm gone, make sure everyone knows I lived my life for Jesus!"

She was preceded in death by her parents, four husbands, a twin brother; Enoch Linder, brothers: Sidney, Sanford, Norman, Virgil, and Reuben Linder as well as 5 infant siblings. She was immediately followed in death by her youngest brother, Charlie, who died March 30, 2011.

Left to cherish her memory and celebrate her life are her daughters Donna Rios and husband Charles of Portola, CA; Bess Berger and husband Curt Bishop of Sunnyvale, CA; a sister, Mary Essinger and husband Clem of Centerville, AR; brother: Perry Linder and wife Mavis of Heber Springs, AR; sisters-in-law; Lucy Linder of Phoenix, AZ, Lois Linder of Greenbrier, AR , Willis Hood of Fairfax, OK, Joy Combs of Manteca, CA, and Geraldine Linder of Bismarck, AR; numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The Family knows that she has "been preparing for this day all our lives... we are comforted to know that after an incredible 93 years of blessing us in this lifetime, she has achieved eternal peace with her Lord and Savior. She is now singing in heaven's choir and having a grand reunion with loved one who went before.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Westbrook Chapel, In Beebe. John Goodwin will officiate Butch Linder will deliver the Eulogy. The family will receive friends from noon until service time on Saturday, burial will take place at Antioch Cemetery.
