Edward Francis Galbraith, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on May 4, 2026, at the age of 92.
Born on October 6, 1933, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Edward was the son of Milton Fraser Galbraith and Genevieve Morgan Galbraith and was raised alongside his siblings, Genevieve, Milton, and Patrick. He carried that East Coast toughness and quiet confidence with him throughout his life, eventually settling in Arkansas in 1973, where he spent the rest of his years.
Edward served over 23 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. During his service, he served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars as a Supply Officer and was awarded a Bronze Star for his service. Following his military career, he continued his commitment to service by working for the United States Postal Service.
He was a man defined by discipline, strong values, and an unwavering sense of responsibility. He believed in hard work, faith, and showing up for the people who mattered most. A devoted family man, Edward was a father to seven children and the proud patriarch of a growing family that includes twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He shared nearly 70 years of marriage with his wife, Barbara, building a life centered on commitment, partnership, and family. Together, they created a foundation that continues to carry on through generations.
Edward will be remembered for his strong opinions, his quiet but steady presence, his dry sense of humor, and his deep loyalty to those he loved.
He is survived by his seven children, Mike Galbraith (Robin), Diane Emerson, Denise Galbraith, Mark Galbraith, Dawn (Jim) Peredo, Debbie (Greg) Henley, and Matt (Mandy) Galbraith; along with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, his parents, Milton Fraser Galbraith and Genevieve Morgan Galbraith, and his siblings, Genevieve, Milton, and Patrick.
