Lt. Edward Mitchell Strackbein (Retired, United States Navy), 72, of Little Rock, passed away May 8, 2011. Born September 6, 1938 in Cross Plains, Texas to Travis and Lorene Strackbein, he was retired from Leisure Arts. He was a member of Southwest Church of Christ.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; sons, Edward, Jr. (Beth) and Travis (Beth); brothers, Bernard (Diane) and David (Dicie); grandchildren, Zack and Jared Strackbein; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Dixie.
Visitation is Wednesday, May 11 from 4-6 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Services will be held on Thursday at 12:00 noon at Southwest Church of Christ, officiated by Mr. Joel Lewis. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Pearson Cemetery in Quitman.
