           Edwin Gibson Burns, 72, of North Little Rock passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023. He was born August 3, 1951 in Morrilton, Arkansas to the late Buell and Vera Cruz “Babe” Gibson Burns.  After the death of his mother, the late Hattie Pearl Martin married Buell Edwin Burns and became “Mama” to he and his sisters and later completed the family with the youngest sister.

            He graduated from Morrilton High school, attended UCA and Pettit Jean Vocational Technical College. Edwin was employed with Remington Arms from 1980 to 2021. He was a devoted employee with a strong work ethic

            Edwin loved history, fishing with friends in Alaska, baseball, the Steelers, Pirates and the Razorbacks.  Edwin enjoyed canoeing and white-water rafting and his annual outing with his close friends. He enjoyed watching his children and grandson play sports throughout the years.  He especially enjoyed holidays with his immediate and extended family. 

            He is survived by daughters, Lacey Brown (Chris), Sarah Passmore (Wilson); son, Kyle Burns (Lis); sisters, Judy Galloway (Bill), Janet Mourot (Mike), and Lynne Tomlinson (Stan); grandson, Elijah Brown; mother-in-law, Juanita Ferguson; mother of his children, Rita; aunt, Ann Martin; several nieces, nephews and many beloved friends.

            A visitation will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Harris Funeral Home in Morrilton, AR.  Inurnment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Morrilton at a later date.

            In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one’s favorite church or charity.
