Elizabeth Jean "Kitzel" Braatelien

Elizabeth (Kitzel) Bratelien passed away on July 11, 2025 at her home in Little Rock Arkansas, after an extended illness. She was born February 9, 1949 in Pueblo, Colorado.

Kitzel's gift in life was to help others, through her many friendships and her work. She was a pediatric nurse, then worked as a lawyer for several firms and Legal Aid, and finished her career working for the Mother Infant program in Pulaski County.

Kitzel was a loving, compassionate and generous soul loved by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents Dr. and Mrs. N.T. Braatelien of Moline Illinois.

Kitzel is survived by her husband, Danny Wewers, and her five siblings and spouses: Gail Braatelien (Richard Castner), Kristin Braatelien (Rick Ketterling), Paul Braatelien (Karrie), Mary Braatelien Sowers, and Bruce Braatelien (Aw), as well as six nieces and nephews, and one great niece. Kitzel was also survived by her in-laws Mark Wewers (Mary Ellen), Becky Johnson, Judy Wewers Korkames (Jody) and Mary Beth Wewers Saad (Bruce) as well as nine nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her many friends from her High School days in Moline, Illinois and Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. Little Rock, AR. There will be a memorial service held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. Little Rock, AR.
