Ellen Ruth Redditt, of North Little Rock, died January 21, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in North Little Rock. She was born April 20, 1922 in Morrilton, Conway County, Arkansas, the daughter of Edwin Bradshaw and Julia Mourot Bradshaw. She married Wilson Lamberton Redditt on April 6, 1946 in Little Rock. Wilson died February 15, 1978. Ellen was a member of Markham Street Baptist Church. She worked at the ordnance plant in Jacksonville during WWII, was a housewife, operated her own beauty shop, and later, was a meter records clerk at Entergy in Little Rock.
Ruth is survived by her children, Linda Kay Francis (Emery) of Sherwood, Victor Edward Redditt (Karen) of Little Rock, and Melba Jean Hooker (John) of North Little Rock; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sisters, Sybil Louise Bradshaw, Mable Harris Murray (Roston Harris and Bill Murray), Ruby Thomas (Jay) and Iris Lavern Anderson (Carl), and a stillborn brother (unnamed).
Services will be Friday, January 25 at 10:30 a.m. at Baring Cross Baptist Church in Sherwood, officiated by Bro. Marty Watson. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. The family will receive friends before the service at the church, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
