Elmer Hooten, age 85, of Sherwood passed Monday, Dec. 11, 2017. Born in Shiloh, AR June 7, 1932.
Preceded in death by parents Fred Hooten and Alice Gray Hooten of NLR, wife Linda McGinty Hooten, brother Allen Hooten of California, sisters Marguerite Bearden and Doris Morehart of NLR, sons Jeff and David Hooten of NLR, daughter Dana Anderson of South Carolina, and a great grandson Bryce Hooten of NLR.
Survived by 3 daughters Sandra Mayo and Deborah Treece of Sherwood, Brenda Pratt of Wisconsin, sister Freida Rigal of NLR, brothers Ernest (Gayla) Hooten of Sherwood, Ben Hooten of Hot Springs, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Elmer was a Korean War Navy Veteran who retired from Union Pacific Railroad and a longtime member of Indianhead Lake Baptist Church. Memorial Service to be held at Indianhead Lake Baptist Church on Friday, Dec 15, 2017 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elmer's memory can be made to Indianhead Lake Baptist Church, 8601 Indianhead Drive, Sherwood, AR 72120.
