Eloise Grier

Eloise Moorman White Grier passed away peacefully on Monday, March 21 in Houston, Texas. She was born February 12, 1917, in Clark County, Arkansas to Sam and Verna Mae Moorman. She married J.T. White in 1939.

A poet, voracious reader, loyal letter writer and lover of everything pink, Eloise combined a gentle nature with immense strength of character. She was a lifelong member of the Nazarene Church.

Eloise is survived by son Joe Thomas White and his wife Nelda, of Spring, Texas; granddaughter Lorri White and her husband Karl Ittmann, of Houston, Texas; grandson Troy White and his wife Amanda, of Austin, Texas; and great-grandchildren Mary Alice White, William Thomas White and Caroline Eleanor Ittmann. She is also survived by her sister Dortha Faye Ligman, of Little Rock, Arkansas; brother Bill Moorman and his wife Patricia, of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; sister-in-law Betty Moorman of Okolona, Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews with their spouses and children. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband J.T. and their infant daughter Linda Kay; husband Rowland Ross Grier; sisters Catherine Moorman Kelly and Evelyn Moorman Wright; and brother Lemuel Moorman.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of Eloise's life on Friday, March 25 at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home, 517 Clay Street, Arkadelphia. Visitation will commence at 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment at Dobyville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Dobyville Cemetery Association, c/o Francis McGill, 14300 Chenal Parkway #7001, Little Rock, Arkansas 72211.
