Emery Francis, Jr.

Emery Louis Francis, Jr., of Jacksonville passed away August 8, 2019.  He was born December 1, 1944 in Blytheville, AR to the late Emery Francis and Dorothy Jones Francis.

Emery was a Professional Electrical Engineer who retired after 37 years with Entergy.  His spare time was spent enjoying classical music, playing golf, and cheering for the Razorbacks and the Boston Red Sox.  He was an active member and served as a deacon at Baring Cross Baptist Church.  Emery had also served as past president of the WoodmenLife Chapter 5, was an active member of the Conway County Genealogical Society and the Conway County Historical Preservation Association.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Linda Redditt Francis; children: Philip Francis (Shanna) and Melanie Buchanan (Michael); grandchildren:  Triana, Michael, Louis, Lochlain, and Lilyanne; sisters, Susan Francis, Lisa Colclasure (Shawn) and many extended family members and friends.  Emery was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Stephen Francis.

Memorials may be made to Baring Cross Baptist Church, Sherwood, Arkansas or the Arkansas Symphony.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Thursday, August 15, 2019, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Baring Cross Baptist Church.  Interment will follow at 3:00 PM at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Plumerville.  Casual attire requested.  Online guestbook at www.SmithFamilyCares.com.
