Emigene Sheppard

Emigene Hembrey Sheppard, 83, of Sherwood, Arkansas, passed from this life on January 15, 2017. She was born in Mount Vernon, Arkansas on April 7, 1933 to William and Mexie Ruth Hembrey. She was a member of the Sylvan Hills Church of Christ. Emigene was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She was the caregiver for her husband Robert for many years. She worked for the State Employment Security Division.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen S. Bell and husband William, of Aiken, South Carolina; grandchildren, Michael Bell and wife Jennifer, of Sherwood, Arkansas, and Matthew Bell, of Chandler, Arizona; sister, Maxine Curd, of Searcy, Arkansas; nieces, Verna Seiler, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Shirley Curd, of Searcy, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Sheppard; her parents; and sister, Geraldine Anderson.
Family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Romance Cemetery, in Romance, Arkansas. Guests may register at www.SmithFamilyCares.com .
