Emily May (Bailey) Jones, 43, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away on March 19, 2026. A devoted mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Emily lived a life defined by love, courage, and an unmistakable light that touched everyone she met.

She is survived by her beloved children, Briton and Bailey Bounds, and their father, Brandon Bounds; her parents, Jack W. Bailey and Shirley Brown; her siblings, Jack A. Bailey and Jessica Hilton; and a loving extended family including her aunt, uncle, cousins, and countless friends who became family.

Born on May 20, 1982, Emily spent part of her childhood as a proud child of the United States Air Force, living in Lakenheath, England, before eventually settling in Fort Smith, Arkansas, which she would call home.

Emily was truly one of a kind. She never met a stranger, offering warmth, kindness, and generosity to everyone she encountered, often willing to give the shirt off her back to someone in need. She had a deep love for all things nerd culture, a vibrant sense of humor, and a beautifully quirky spirit that made her unforgettable. She was effortlessly classy before it was ever a trend, and in her own way, cooler than all of us.

She loved to dance, no matter the music or the moment. If there was a song playing, you could always find her moving to it, bringing joy and laughter to those around her.

More than anything, Emily was fiercely loving and brave. She carried a strength that inspired others and, at times, quite literally saved lives when others had lost hope. In the last years of her life, she devoted herself selflessly to her children, creating a beautiful life filled with love, care, and meaning.

She was a shining star, beautiful inside and out, and her absence leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who knew her. Though she is no longer with us, her light remains. When you miss her, look to the sky and remember: some lights never fade, they just shine from a different place.

Plans for a celebration of life are underway; more information will be shared soon.
