Emma Taylor Herron age 97 of the Curtis Community near Arkadelphia died Wednesday, April 6, 2011 in Arkadelphia. She was born February 22, 1914 in Graysonia, Arkansas the daughter of the late H. D. and Flora Beavert Taylor. She was the last living charter member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Herron was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Herron and one granddaughter, Kimberly Winchell.
Survivors are one sister, Nevelyn Long of Yuba City, California; one sister-in-law, Ludie Tucker of Curtis, AR; three sons, Bobby Herron (Christene) of Curtis, AR; Johnny Herron (Trecia) of Arkadelphia, AR; Kenneth Herron (Tanya) of Curtis, AR; one daughter, Chestamae (Pat) Sturch (Floyd) of Curtis, AR; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren on the way.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 9th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with burial in Shady Grove Cemetery at Curtis. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
