Estelle Langston, age 100, of Glenwood, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018. She was born on March 2, 1917 in Sarepta, Louisiana, the daughter of George Whitson Basinger and Flarrie Huckaby Basinger Alvis. She married the love of her life, Willie James "Red" Langston, the day after she graduated from Sarepta High School. They were married for fifty-three years before he preceded her in death in 1989. She was also preceded in death by two sons, James Lindall Langston and Rufus James "Jimmy" Langston, her parents, four brothers and one sister. She was an active member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church for many years before joining Glenwood First Baptist Church after Willie passed away. She is survived by her much loved daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Richard Kerr of Hot Springs; her grandsons, David and Terry; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 30, 2018, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Jack Herring officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, 1:30 PM until service time, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill West, Rodney Woodard, Rex Lawrence, Larry Mitchell, David Baker and Tony Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Oak Park Sunday School Class and their teachers, Sue Johnson and Lucy Tollett. The family would like to send a special thank you to Wanda Jones and her wonderful staff at Oak Park Village and to the nurses and staff of Glenwood Health and Rehabilitation for all of their wonderful care.
