Ethan Paul Myers

Ethan Paul Myers, 51, of Searcy passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. A Celebration of Life will take place, with Visitation from 2:00 to 3:00 pm and special memories from 3:00 to 4:00 pm on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Smith Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72114

He was born October 18, 1972, in Houston, TX, the son of Edwin James Myers and Mary Anna Weinhold Myers. He graduated from Memphis Harding Academy in 1991. He attended Harding University and graduated in 1996 with a degree in sports management.

He worked for the department of parks and recreation in Beebe AR, was a co-owner and head of installations at I-Tech A/V, and was currently in business development with Stallion Transportation Group.

He married Andrea Thornthwaite in 2001, and they were blessed with three sons.

They made their home in Searcy, North Little Rock, Jackson, TN and later Pensacola, FL.

He loved his family fiercely and they were his world. He was an athlete and loved watching the Tennessee Volunteers and the Tennessee Titans play football. He was given the gift of hospitality and loved to serve others.

Ethan loved to make people laugh. Whether it was a nickname he instantly came up with when he met you, or making up a song on the fly about whatever was going on, he could get a giggle out of anyone.  He was an instant friend to anyone he met. He had compassion on those he saw struggling, whether it was someone begging on a street corner or his own family needing to be lifted up. Big E was a hard worker, and he refused to work from home because he loved being around people. He loved God, and right after God, his boys. They were his everything. He was so good at being a dad and a best friend to Easton, Zeke, and Evan. Ethan was so proud of his boys, and he would light up when he talked about them. He loved reminiscing and could remember details of stories all the way back to childhood. It was fun to hear him, Eddie, and Melanie talk about things they remembered growing up, but of course Ethan’s version was always right.

He is survived by ex-wife, Andrea, and three sons, Easton Earl Myers, Ezekiel Thomas Myers and Evan James Myers of Pensacola, parents Edwin and Mary Myers of Searcy, AR, sister Melanie (Patrick) Malone of Henderson, TN and brother Eddie (Amy) Myers of Searcy, AR. One niece, Shelby (Daniel) Clifft, and five nephews Zach (Logan) Malone, Cory (Whitney) Malone, Riley (Victoria) Malone, Ean (Sophie) Myers, and Cole Myers.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a fund for his three sons, set up at First Security Bank, 314 N. Spring Street, Searcy, AR 72143.  Checks must be made out to First Security Bank, with memo Ethan Paul Myers.
