Eudeana Allen

Eudeana “NeNe” Allen, age 79, of Hot Springs, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023.

Born in Glenwood on December 25, 1943, the daughter of Jewell Hopper and Stella Reynolds Hopper.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving ex- husband James Eugene Allen Sr., one brother, Dearl Hopper; and one sister, Ernest Stella Hopper. She is also preceded in death by two brother in laws, Carl Allen Sr., and Terry Allen. Eudeana grew up with an adventurous spirit and a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures. She was always eager to explore new hobbies and experiences. Whether it was venturing out to yard sales or fishing at her favorite fishing spot, Eudeana embraced every moment with enthusiasm.

One of Eudeana's greatest passions was gardening. Her green thumb brought forth beauty and tranquility as she cultivated her beloved flowers and plants. The sight of blooming blossoms always brought her immense joy. Eudeana's garden was not only a reflection of her nurturing nature but also served as a sanctuary where she found solace and peace.

In addition to gardening, Eudeana had a passion for cooking. Her kitchen was filled with mouth-watering aromas as she prepared delectable meals for family gatherings. Each dish was cooked with love and served with an infectious smile that made everyone feel welcome at her table.

But perhaps one of the most cherished aspects of Eudeana's personality was her gift for storytelling. Gathering around her would transport listeners to another time and place as she weaved captivating tales from her own life experiences or cherished folk stories passed down through generations. Her stories brought laughter, inspiration, and sometimes tears but they always left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to hear them.

She is survived by her two sons, James Eugene Allen and wife, Sueann Michelle Williams and Billy Dean Allen, Sr.; four grandchildren, Jessica Jean Allen, Shanda Ladena Allen, Billy Dean Allen, Jr. and Timothy James Allen; six great-grandchildren, Mark Duncan, Carah Dunlap, Kaedyn Dunlap, Addasin Ingram, Serenity Phillips and Shantelle Allen; her brother, Earl Hopper; two brother in laws Ronnie Allen, and Donald Allen, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
