Eugene Lowell Small

Eugene Lowell Small, 89 of North Little Rock, died December 29, 2023. He was born July 20, 1934 to the late Harmon E. and Vada Delaney (Childress) Small in Amity, Arkansas. 

Also preceded in death are his wife, Minnie Charlene Small; three brothers, Floyd and Loyd Small and Wayne L. Small, and two sisters; Estelle F. Braughton and Frieda M. Bailey. He graduated from Hot Springs High School (1952) and attended Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Arkansas (1956/57) and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville (1960). He was a professional Engineer for Entergy for 40 years until his retirement in 1999. He traveled extensively with his wife in his work which took him to 49 of the 50 states plus Canada, Mexico, Germany and Japan.

He was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church in North Little Rock and a member of the Bob Miller Sunday School Class.

Eugene is survived by one daughter, Diana (Brian) Persing of Fayetteville, AR; two sons, Stanley (Kelli) Small of Conway, AR and Warren Small of North Little Rock, AR; four Granddaughters Danielle (Ryan) Creswell, Samantha (Kevin) Carter, Lauren (Caleb) Jennings, and Hannah (Bryce) Owsley; six great-grandchildren (Emmy Creswell, Ellie Creswell, Stone Creswell, June Carter, Henry Carter and Espie Carter); two sisters, Doris McCall and Carolyn Garner; and one brother, Dr. John (Mildred) Small all of Arkadelphia, AR.

Visitation will be held at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at Prairie Bayou Cemetery on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 2:00 PM. 

Memorials may be sent to the Bob Miller Sunday School Class at Lakewood United Methodist Church in North Little Rock, AR.
