Eugene "Gene" Zajac, Jr.

Eugene “Gene” Stanley Zajac, Jr. 37, passed from this life on January 21, 2022. He was born to Eugene and Peggy Zajac on May 21, 1984.

Gene graduated from Catholic High School in 2002 and was a member of the Marine ROTC. He went on to attend college at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and graduated in 2009.  He was a blackbelt in Shotokan Karate and studied under Sensei Bruce McGee. He worked in the family business, Blue Hill Wrecker Service from 2000 – 2012. Most recently, he was a wine steward at Costco in Little Rock. He enjoyed visiting with his wine customers and helping them select the perfect vintage wine.

He loved his wife, Abby. His baby girl Khloe was the love of his life. She is a daddy’s girl. He also loved his pug Buttercup (who went with him to college).

He was a loving son, husband, father, brother and uncle.

He is survived by his wife Abby, daughter Khloe, his parents, sisters; Melanie Zajac, Michele Zajac; two nephews, Jacob Strawn, Joey Norman; three nieces, Fallon (Adrian) Jones, Sierra Tipton, Victoria Strawn; Grandmother Anna Belle Geary; great nephew Rowan Jones, (all of North Little Rock), as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and family friends.

He is preceded in death by grandparents Carl and Geraldine Zajac; Grandfather Lewis Geary; Aunt Beverley Zajac; and Cousin Jon Paul Coney.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM, Monday, January 24, 2022, at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home, with the Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. Funeral service, Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary with burial to follow at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery.

Pallbearers include: Shaun O’Neal, Casey Cothran, McClain McEntire, Reed Lewallen, Jacob Strawn and Joseph Norman.
