Eunice Wise

Eunice Adeline Wise, age 94, passed from this life on May 10th, 2024, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. As a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was woman who loved well and was well loved.

Eunice was the fifth of eight children and was born April 21st, 1930, to Herbert and Cecelia Trautman Trost in Leedey, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clyde Wise, daughter, Beverly McCay, brothers, Gordon, Victor, Herbert, Dale, and Jimmie Trost, sisters, Beatrice Wiser and Beverly Trost, and grandson, Andy Finley.

Eunice was a graduate of Green Forest High School, class of 1948. She attended Ozark Beauty School, earning her cosmetology license in 1949. Her first beautician job was in Cotter, Arkansas, where she met the love of her life, Clyde Emery Wise. After they married, she and Clyde began a whirlwind of moves to locations far and near, wherever his work took them: Sparta, Georgia, Branson, Missouri, Conway, Camden, Pine Bluff, Jacksonville, Heber Springs, and finally settling on a small farm in the Opal community near Beebe. Eunice found joy in her career as a homemaker and mother to her two daughters, Beverly and Kaye. She tended the farm when her husband was working out of town.

Family was the central part of her life. Her home was the family “hub.” Everyone gathered and felt at ease around her. She was a selfless woman and will leave an unfillable gap in the hearts of her loved ones. Her ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love is a source of inspiration and evidence of a life well-lived.

After the devastating loss of her husband, Eunice devoted her time to the El Paso Home Extension club, volunteering her time by working on various community projects. She enjoyed the company and unity provided by the club. She was also involved in her senior Sunday school class at Union Valley Baptist Church, enjoying fellowship with her friends.

After the marriage of her daughter, Kaye, to Joe Bill, Eunice gained four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She also found a new purpose in life when her twin grandchildren came along. She was enamored by her sweetie pies, sharing her memories, love of family, and hobbies with them. Her granddaughters inspired her to overcome major health obstacles in the future.

Eunice’s love of the Lord was evident. She embodied the fruits of the spirit in all aspects of her daily life.

She is survived by her daughter, Kaye (Joe Bill) Finley of Beebe, granddaughters Madison (David) Campbell and Melanie (Jordan) Fulmer of Beebe, Teresa (David) Mason of Romance, grandsons Darren (Sheryl) Finley of Beebe, Corey (Beverly) Finley of Brookland, six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, sisters-in-law Sue Trost of Little Rock and Louise Trost of Virginia Beach, Virginia, a host of loving nieces and nephews, and special friends Rod, Judy, and Zach Barrett.
