Evelia Susana Velazquez-Arias, 52, of Sherwood, Arkansas, passed from this life on November 8, 2025.

Susan was born in Tepatitlán de Morelos, Jalisco, and spent most of her life in Arkansas alongside her loving parents and seven brothers. Susan was innately a loving and giving person who shared her humor, kindness, and patience with those who needed it most. Throughout her many roles in life—as a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and healthcare worker—her genuine character shone brightly to all that we’re blessed to know her. She touched countless lives with her compassion, warmth, and unwavering dedication to others. She spent her life spreading love and uplifting those around her—always a smile to greet you as you walked in, and a hug before you left.

Susan will be remembered for her incredible work ethic, her determination to shape her own world, her caring nature, her sharp and joyful sense of humor, her love of Diet Coke, her passion for DIY projects and crafting, and her strength & resilience through every adversity. She was truly one of a kind.

Susan is survived by her three children: Gaby Rosas (Michael), Victoria Rosas, and Anna Rosas; her spouse, Adan Arias; and her beloved grandson, Crue Hawthorne. She is also survived by her step-grandchildren, Ximena, Mario, and Leo; her stepchildren, Michelle (Mario) and Jaqueline Arias; her brothers, Martin Velazquez, Manuel Velazquez (Deya), Robert Velazquez (Amy), Luis Velazquez (Estela), Hobbie Velazquez (Heldy), Freddie Velazquez, and Tony Velazquez (Amy); as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Evelia and Roberto Velazquez, and her brother, Carlos Velazquez.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Friday, November 14, at Smith

Sherwood Funeral Home, 7700 AR-107, Sherwood, AR. A visitation will also be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 15, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Anne’s Church, 6150 Remount Rd, North Little Rock, AR 72118. Burial will follow at 12:30 P.M. at Rest Hills Cemetery.
