Evelyeen Pennington Ward born to Dona and Stewart Pennington in Glenwood, Arkansas February 25, 1927.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stewart (Doc) and Dona Pennington; her son, James Ward; her daughter, Laqueta Ward Goodner; her brother, Cleo Pennington; her Granddaughter, Ginger Seals; Grandson, David Tidwell, and nephew, Glen Pennington.

She was employed by Shelby Manufacturing as a seamstress until retirement. 

She loved piecing and hand quilting. She was well known for the quality, details, and beauty of those quilts.

She loved her family and never missed an opportunity to get together with them. She raised three beautiful children in a Christian home. She was a Godly woman, a dedicated mother, and was steadfast in her walk with the Lord for 97 years. Family meant everything to her, and it was obvious to all those who knew and loved her. Laughter and joy were woven into this family because of the influence she had. 

She is survived by her daughter Gail Tidwell and her husband Harley, and daughter-in-law Pat Ward her grandchildren are Darla Nuckols, Shelley Ward, and Steven Ward, numerous great, and great-great-grandchildren. Brother Doyle (Betty) Pennington, Noel (Linda) Pennington and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Tyler Tidwell, Trevin Tidwell, Steven Ward, Will Ward, Tanner Garner, and David Porter.

Honorary Pallbearers are Kevin McLean, Danny McGrew, Dennis Ward, and Denny Jester.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Smith Family Funeral Home-Glenwood. 

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM Friday, September 6, 2024, at Glenwood First Baptist Church with Bro. Don Vaughn and Bro. Olin Vaughn officiating. 

Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
