Fayna Lanieve Davidson, 94, of North Little Rock passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016. She was born on January 13, 1922 in Independence County, Arkansas. She is the daughter of the late Eldridge A. Smith and Lucy (Cornelius) Smith. She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Hazel Pinkston, Laverne Atwood, Lenore Dobbs, Jacquelyn Smith and one brother, Keith Smith.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, J.R. Davidson; daughter, Linda Nosal of North Little Rock; son, Randy Davidson (Suzann) of Jacksonville; daughters, Cindy Chapman (Ed) of Jacksonville and Beverly Kaplon (Pat) of North Little Rock; grandchildren, Rhonda Nosal, Stephen Nosal, Joey Davidson, Shannon Townsend (Blake), Billy Chapman, Michelle Collins (David), Karen Chapman, Kevin Chapman and Emily Kaplon and great-granddaughters, Lily and McKinley Townsend and Erin Chapman.
Fayna grew up in Melbourne, Arkansas where her father was the owner and editor of the Melbourne Times. She attended Melbourne High School where she graduated as valedictorian of her class and played on the girls basketball team. She went on to complete one year of college at Arkansas College in Batesville, now known as Lyons College. She was a member of the band there and played the flute.
During WWII, Fayna worked at the Arkansas Ordinance Plant in Jacksonville, Arkansas. She and her husband, J.R. are charter members of First Baptist Church of Sherwood. She was co-owner of Double D Radiator Shop, where she spent many years working along side her husband. Fayna was a dedicated wife and mother whose memories will be cherished by her family and friends.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 West Maryland Avenue. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street.
