Frances Marion Hall went to be with Jesus on December 19, 2024. Marion was born on October 29, 1926 in North Little Rock, Arkansas to Mary C. and William C (“Bill”) Harris. She graduated North Little Rock High School.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Kathy Hall and Rebecca (Dennis) Floyd, granddaughters Noelle (Terry) Ciganek, Lauren (Chris) Perkins, and Holly Kristen Hall, grandson David (Terri Lynn) Floyd, and 7 great grandchildren, Terry III, Madelynn, Everlynn, Rylynn, Emberlynn, Caylee, and Cameron.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband James C. (“Jim”) Hall, her precious son Gregory Harris Hall, her parents Mary and Bill Harris, her devoted granddaughter Mary Kathryn Floyd (John) Coreil, and her 2 sisters Geneva (Harvey) Saults and Peggy (Frank) Thompson.
Marion was a loving and devoted wife, mother/grandmother/great grandmother, and homemaker. She enjoyed watching various sports with her family, especially college football and any event the Razorbacks participated in. She was famous for her butter cookies, coloring them to match the holiday or event, her breakfasts, and delicious enchiladas. All through her children’s school years, she daily took them to and from school and to after school events, eager to hear about their day.
She was involved in church at First Baptist Church in Benton. She loved her church and was a long-standing member of and secretary for several years for WMU, keeping copious notes of each meeting, and frequently assisted with Vacation Bible School. She continued to tithe to her church while being confined to home due to her broken hip in 2021. In 1993 she lost her husband to cancer and six months later her son in a freeway accident. Through it all she never lost her faith and continued, strongly leaning on the Lord, to do all the activities she enjoyed with family and church while living alone.
She drove to Fayetteville numerous times to visit her daughter Rebecca and her grandchildren, watching their basketball, football, and baseball games, and celebrating birthdays, Christmases, and Thanksgivings.
She traveled with Rebecca’s family to Destin beach vacations, where she enjoyed the sound of the waves from the balcony and especially the Blue Angels and the Naval museum in Pensacola as her husband was in the Navy, and to Branson to see Andy Williams in concert several times, her favorite singer/entertainer. On a Thanksgiving trip to Dallas, she was treated to a Chicago Bulls game with Michael Jordan.
For years after being widowed, Rebecca & her family joined Mimi (her “grandmother" name) in decorating her home for Christmas, making it an event to be treasured! Among things she did with daughter Kathy was travel, going to Europe including Italy, Austria, France, and Germany where she was able to see her granddaughter Holly who was her son’s only child; Canada and the Rocky Mountaineer train ride; the coast of Maine for a lighthouse tour; a fall visit to Boston and Cape Cod; a “western roadtrip” through Arizona, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, and back to California; and a roadtrip through St. Louis, Chicago, and staying at the Big Bay Point Light on Lake Superior. She was a great travel companion, making each trip full of fun and wonderful memories.
Visitation and memorial service honoring her life will be held at First Baptist Church in Benton on Monday, January 20, with visitation at 12:00 p.m. and memorial service following at 1:00 p.m.
