Frances "Sue" Burgess

Frances Sue Burgess, 92, of Cabot, Arkansas, went to meet the Lord on Thursday, January 1, 2026. She was born in Lonoke, Arkansas on January 27, 1933, to James William and Fannie Ford.

Sue was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Cabot. She loved to quilt, garden, cook and loved to spend time with her family, especially spoiling her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Earl Seymore (Popeye) Burgess, her daughter, Barbara Burgess, and two sisters, Louise McCuin and Linda McMillan.

Sue is survived by her children, Carolyn (Jim) McClendon of Austin, Ricky (Sheila) Burgess of Cabot; seven grandchildren, Justin (Kristen) McClendon, Emily McClendon, Kristi (Jarod) Maynard, Stephanie (Clint) Roper, Breyanne (Clint) Watson, Tiffanie (Jared) Fowlkes, Jessica (Jacob) Knight; sixteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W. Dewitt Henry Dr., Beebe, Arkansas. Graveside service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Hicks Cemetery, in Lonoke. Online guestbook at www.smithfamilycares.com
