Frank Parsons

Listen to Obituary

On Friday, April 24, 2026, Frank Parsons passed peacefully, surrounded by family.

Frank Leon Parsons was born in Ysleta, Texas, in 1942, to Frank Melvin and Mary Magdalene (Née Thompson) Parsons. Frank was the youngest of five siblings, including Jim, Mary Francis, Ralph, and Donald.

Frank, Sr. and Mary raised their family in Memphis, TN, and El Paso. During high school, he met his future wife, Melaine Wilson, through mutual friends. Frank and Melaine were married in El Paso and lived in many locales from coast to coast of the United States before returning finally to Texas.

Frank’s career was wide and varied. He was a manager at a Kresge’s in Thousand Oaks, CA, a police officer in El Paso, TX, and a field agent for the Internal Revenue Service in Amarillo, TX, and Bartlesville, OK. In Bartlesville, he was an agent for Farmers Insurance before making his way to Orlando, FL, to work at Walt Disney World. Frank ended his career working for Frontier Airlines in Sacramento, CA, San Antonio, and Dallas, TX.

Frank and Melaine loved travel, camping often in their early family years, and taking many, many road trips around the country to such places as Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Later travel included trips to visit Richard in Canada and an adventure to England, Scotland, and France to pursue another of their lifelong interests: genealogy.

Frank coached both of his sons in soccer, baseball, and basketball over the years. He continued that involvement as a Papa, though the interests of his grandkids leaned more towards videogames than sports. He helped them learn to play Pokemon, Age of Empires, and Civilization, and joined them in playing Wizard 101 and Supreme Commander. As Master Peppertoes, Papa could always be called upon to defeat a cog building in Toontown when a mighty toon was needed.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Jim, Mary Francis and Donald.

Frank is survived by his wife, Melaine, son Richard, son Robert (and his wife, Christy), and daughter Erika (and her husband, Eric). Their grandchildren are Austin, Alexander, Alyssa, Andrew (and wife Kaylyn), Ashlyn, and Ariana Parsons, Calvin and Cass Chancellor. Frank is also survived by his brother, Ralph Parsons, and a large extended family with many nieces and nephews.

Frank was laid to rest in the Wray Family cemetery in Bonnerdale, Arkansas on May 2, 2026, near the home of Robert and Christy. Pall bearers included Richard, Robert, and Eric.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 6, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Waxahachie, TX.
