Frank Mervin Satterfield, 87, of Maumelle, died Thursday, May 5, 2016. He was born January 2, 1929 in Forrest City, Arkansas to Veola May and Francis Marion Satterfield. He graduated from high school in Brinkley, Arkansas in 1947, where he was president of his senior class. In 1951, he graduated from Arkansas State Teachers College (UCA) where he was a member of Phi Sigma Epsilon. Frank went to work for the Bank of Brinkley for two years before joining the U.S. Air Force. During his 22 years of service, he was an F-86 fighter pilot, a B-47 aircraft commander and retired as a B-52 aircraft commander.

After retirement from the Air Force, he joined AG Edwards & Sons in Little Rock and was an account executive for another 22 years. Having served as president of the Maumelle Country Club in 1980, Frank and his family eventually moved to Maumelle in 1994 where he spent his retirement years as an avid golfer. He and his wife of 62 years, Earline Rich, enjoyed extensive travels. Additionally, he was a faithful member of the Open Door Class at Trinity United Methodist Church in Little Rock for 42 years.

Frank is survived by his wife, Earline Rich Satterfield; two sons, Keith Mervin (Teresa) of Texarkana, Arkansas and Jeffrey Alan (Cathy) of Yorktown, Virginia; six grandchildren, Brandon, Matthew (Brittany), Clayton, Trey, Carly and Kaylyn; three great-grandchildren, Colton, Genevieve, and Mason; a brother, Dennis Ray Satterfield (Sue) of Brinkley; a sister, Frances Mayola St. John of Atlanta, Georgia; a brother-in-law, Ray Rich (Susan) of North Carolina; and eight nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and older brother Clarence O'Lane Satterfield.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 8 from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Services will be Monday, May 9 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Phil Hathcock. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1101 N. Mississippi, Little Rock, AR 72207 or to a charity of one's choice.
