Elder Fred English

Elder Fred English, age 79, passed away Monday July 10, 2023, in Searcy. He was born May 6, 1944, to the late Vernon English and Lona (Martin) English in Searcy. Fred is also preceded in death by one daughter, Angela Dawn English, and his brother, Edward Hugh English.

Elder English was a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Beebe, where he was a minister that was passionate about telling others about the goodness of God and the Plan of Salvation.  Throughout Fred and Eilene’s 59 years of marriage he ministered and pastored for 40 plus years to multiple churches.

Elder Fred leaves behind a legacy of how to have a loving and closeknit family, teaching and mentoring in Christian Education, and his Biblical Studies. Bro. Fred has written multiple articles that people all around the world have been blessed to read and learn from.

Elder Fred is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eilene (Deeds) English formerly of Buchanan, Michigan; son, Derek Edward English and wife Leslie; daughter, Tonya Marie Skaggs and husband Chris all of Judsonia; grandchildren: Katalina Jewel Skaggs, Shelby Dawn English, Luke Edward English; and many more that he was affectionately known by as “Papa”.

Funeral Service will be 6:00 PM Monday, July 17, 2023, at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, 505 N Apple Street, Beebe, AR 72012. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be 10:00 AM Tuesday July 18, 2023, at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.  Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W.
