Freddy Joe Wright

Freddy Joe Wright, age 82, of Glenwood, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

He was born on October 29, 1943 in Caddo Gap. He was the son of Haskell Wright and Celie Wehunt Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Velma Marie Buttrum; his daughter, Sheila (Adams) Rankin; his grandson, Jagger McCurdy; and his great-granddaughter, Haydin.

Freddy was a Christian in his faith. He worked for many years as a logger and then as a truck driver. He enjoyed working on his house, mowing his lawn, fishing, horseracing, and writing. Freddy will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his four children and their spouses, Glenda and Robbie St Clair of Ola, Vance and Machelle Wright of Story, Jennifer Wright of Amity, and Wendy Wright of Glenwood; his fourteen grandchildren, Jonathon, Josh, Robin, Shawna, Brandi, Veronica, Kandis, Kaly, Katelyn, Tanner, Mia, Cadence, Gavin, and Bentley; his numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel- Glenwood with Bro. Vernon Wehunt officiating.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel- Glenwood.

Interment will be held at Black Springs Cemetery.
