Freva Nell Douglas Johnson, 89, of Cabot, passed away on May 21, 2026. She was born on May 31, 1936 to Earl Douglas and Dovie Sanders Douglas in Cabot, AR and was the middle of three children. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Cabot. Freva retired from Maybelline with over twenty years of service and was a resident of Stone Bridge of Cabot Assisted Living.
She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Cloyce "Buck" Johnson of Cabot, son Rick Johnson of Cabot, son and daughter-in-law Kenny and Jill Johnson of Cabot, daughter and son-in-law Rhonda and Richard "Dickie" Penn of Sherwood. Freva was "Nana" to her grandson and daughter-in-law Richard and Lyndsay Penn of Fayetteville, granddaughter and son-in-law Megan and Daniel Davis of Pottsville, great-grandchildren Caleb Davis, Rhett Davis, Laney Grace Penn and Richard "Palmer" Penn. She leaves to cherish her memory a loving host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gene Douglas Sr. of Jacksonville, sister and brother-in-law Judy and Lynn Carmical of Cabot, bonus sister Barbara "Bobbie" Douglas of Jacksonville, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sue and Bill Guffey of Cabot, brother-in-law Bobby Johnson of Cabot, niece Glenda Collins of Lonoke and nephews Randy Fortson of Cabot and Gene "Doug" Douglas Jr. of Jacksonville.
Freva was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her greatest enjoyment was being with family and friends. She was always happy in her kitchen where she took pleasure in preparing wonderful meals and desserts for her family and others. Her and Buck enjoyed camping with family and friends, spending time at their home away from home in Alred, and they were always up for a good time with the Seniors Saints from Zion Hill Baptist Church. Freva was a "Social Butterfly", making everyone she would meet to feel like a friend.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 10:00am-11:00am at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Cabot, with the Funeral Service immediately following at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Sumner Cemetery in Cabot.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Stone Bridge of Cabot and the Comfort Care Center of Little Rock for their excellent care and compassion. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Zion Hill Baptist Church, 11923 Zion Hill Road, Cabot, AR 72023.
