F.W. "Slim" Bingham, 94, won his race and joined his heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 after a brief health battle.
Known as "Mayor of Bingham Hill", Slim was born on December 19, 1927 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He spent his entire life in the East End Community. He would eventually marry the love of his life, Juanita Brazil, and from there, they would build a life that they loved.
Slim was a man of community service, having served in law enforcement for the better half of his career. After retirement, you could find Slim camping, fishing, and hunting. He loved his friends and community. But his greatest joy was within his family. And his family will always remember him as being a good Christian man who raised them up right. They will treasure his legacy forever.
Slim was a longtime member of Bingham Road Baptist Church and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Slim is preceded in death by his wife of over 30 years, Juanita Brazil Bingham and a son, Phillip Bingham; parents, Asa & Essie Howlett Bingham; 2 brothers, Harold Bingham and Claude Bingham; and a sister Lois Taskey.
Left to cherish every joke, every laugh, and all of the sweet memories are his beloved children: Debra Rowell (Little Rock), Glen Bingham (Shelly) of Texarkana, and the favorite- John Bingham (Angela) of Little Rock; 5 grandchildren: Paula, Billy, Colton, Blake, and Avenly; 3 great-grandchildren: Lauren, Brayden, and Ada Rose.
Visitation will be held at Bingham Road Baptist Church on Monday, March 7 at 1:00PM with the service to follow at 2:00PM. Interment will be at Salem Cemetery in East End.
