Gabriel Holbrook was a little boy with a big personality, a mischievous spirit, and a heart full of love. On October 23, 2026, at the age of nine, Gabriel went to be with Jesus, leaving behind a family who will forever treasure the joy, laughter, and love he brought into their lives.
Born on May 19, 2017, to Dorothy and Wade Holbrook, Gabriel was one of seven children. He was homeschooled throughout his life and shared his days with the people who knew and loved him best.
His mom described him as ornery and loving, and his dad shared that Gabriel was often the instigator. If something was going on, there was a good chance Gabriel was right in the middle of it. He even managed to break four televisions over the years, giving his family stories they will be telling for a long time to come.
As much as Gabriel loved a little mischief, he loved his family even more. He was a protective and loving brother who enjoyed being surrounded by his siblings. He especially loved challenging them to an arm-wrestling match, creating memories filled with laughter and a little friendly competition.
Gabriel loved being outside, digging in the dirt and searching for bugs and frogs. He enjoyed playing Minecraft, and his mom shared that he was a talented singer and dancer. He also loved food. The Very Hungry Caterpillar was one of his favorites, and a shirt that read “Always Hungry” was just right for him.
Gabriel loved every holiday, especially because holidays meant being with his people—the family and friends he loved so much and who loved him right back. He loved Halloween for the candy and Christmas for all the excitement it brought.
One Christmas morning, his family woke up to a sight they would never forget: Gabriel had gotten ahold of a huge bag of powdered sugar from Sam’s Club and was shaking it into the air. Powdered sugar was everywhere, and Gabriel had created a Christmas memory his family will always carry with a smile.
Gabriel also loved being at church with his church family, surrounded by people who loved him and welcomed him with open arms.
Gabriel leaves behind his loving parents, Dorothy and Wade Holbrook; his siblings, Annabelle Holbrook, Donald Holbrook, Elizabeth Holbrook, Abigail Holbrook, Michael Holbrook, and Bentley Holbrook; his grandparents, Brad and Laura Holbrook and Roy and Karen French; and a host of extended family and friends who loved him so very much.
He was preceded in death by his aunt, Jennifer Holbrook, and his cousin, Emery Garrison.
Though Gabriel was born with congenital heart disease, his life was filled with love, laughter, adventure, and the people who meant the most to him. His family takes comfort in knowing that Gabriel is now whole and with Jesus, singing and dancing with the Father.
His family invites all who knew and loved him to celebrate his life, remembering the sweet, ornery little boy who made their world brighter and gave them memories they will hold close forever.
