Listen to Obituary

Gary Dukes, 75, of Beebe, Arkansas, passed away on August 3, 2025. He was born on December 21, 1949, to the late Walter and Janie Dukes. Dukes was a son, father, grandfather, friend, coach, and Razorback fan.

Gary was the beloved father of Ellen Rackley (Tom Rackley) and Leslie Silvey (Brent Silvey). He was the cherished “Dukes” to his grandchildren: Jordan Wood, Olivia Grace Silvey, Annalyse Silvey, and Garrett Rackley, each of whom he adored. He is also survived by RaJeana Dukes, the mother of his two daughters. Among those closest to him was his dear friend Ronnie Paro, who became more like a son and was a faithful friend that stood beside him these last several years.

Gary had a faith in Jesus Christ and was a member of Union Valley Baptist Church and also attended Geyer Springs First Baptist Church.

A true Arkansas Razorback through and through, Gary was a passionate fan of every Razorback sport—from football to baseball, basketball to track. You’d be hard-pressed to find someone who cheered louder or knew more about the Hogs than he did.

He also found great joy in coaching and mentoring young athletes as a longtime softball coach of the Naturals at Little Oaks Ballpark. Gary didn’t just teach the game—he taught life lessons, built confidence, and created lifelong memories for countless players and families. His love of the game and dedication to the girls he coached was evident in every season, every inning, and every encouraging word.

Among his many relationships, the special bond he shared with his grandson Jordan was a highlight of his life. Their connection was deep, joyful, and rooted in mutual admiration.
