Gary Eugene French, son of Carl Davis Elmore French and Leona Boyd French, was born in Little Rock, AR on June 6, 1946.

Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Regina, who passed on December 8, 2025, Gary was also preceded in death by his parents, a baby brother, Lloyd Verne French; sister, Gladys French Smith (Tooter); brother Carl Junior French; and nephews Larry and Randy Smith and Brad French.

Gary’s father passed away when Gary was just 8 years old. Growing up, Gary and his Mom spent many happy times with his nephews Larry and Randy and niece Wanda. Gary places his faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior at Immanuel Baptist Church on April 17, 1959, where he continued to be a member until his death. Gary grew up playing baseball at Lamar Porter Field and was a great left-handed pitcher up through the American Legion League. Gary graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1965.

Gary had a career in computer programming at the Arkansas Highway Department and retired in 2000. Gary and Regina were married on April 17, 1976 in Maynard, Arkansas. They were members at Immanuel Baptist Church and were privileged to go on mission trips including China and Brazil as well as a trip to the Holy Land. Gary served in the TV ministry at Immanuel for many years. Gary was also a statistician for the Arkansas Travelers baseball team for many years.

Gary is survived by his nieces Wanda Gerke (Joe) and Tina Johnston (John.) He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Dian Van Ness, brother-in-law, Larry Abshier (Karren,) in addition to several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM, April 30th, at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at the funeral home at 12:00 PM. Gary will be entombed next to his wife, Regina, at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Alexander, AR at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable donation to the Audio-Visual Ministry or Missions Ministry at Immanuel Baptist Church, 501 North Shackleford Road, Little Rock, AR 72211.
