Gary W. Gorbet, 66, of Beebe, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 20, 2012, after a brave and courageous battle with ALS, better known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Berlin and Eva Grace Gorbet; also a sister, Judy Hawthorne. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-six years, Diane Gorbet; two sons, Damon Gorbet of Jackson, Tennessee and Mark Gorbet of Sherwood; four grandchildren, Andrew Gorbet, Megan Gorbet, Chloe Gorbet and Madison Gorbet; one brother, Larry Gorbet of Lonoke; also a host of relatives and friends. Gary is currently the pastor of First Baptist Church of Brownsville in Lonoke. He was retired from Union Pacific Railroad with thirty-six years of service. He was an independent business owner and entrepreneur of an internet marketing company, and also served in the Army National Guard. Gary touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at First Baptist Church, in Beebe. Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 23, 2012, at First Baptist Church, with entombment in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
