Gary Lee Helms

Gary Lee Helms, age 68, of Norman, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025.

He was born in Mount Ida on April 19, 1956. He was the son of Wylie Lee Helms and Lena Mae Alexander Helms. He is preceded in death by his parents. 

Gary was a true outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, and kayaking. Most of all he loved being with his family, especially his triplet brothers, Terry and Larry.

He is survived by his siblings, June (Doyne) Alexander of Norman, GW (Colleen) Helms of Mount Ida, Linda (Bob Illing) Todd of Little Rock, Terry Helms of Norman, Larry Helms of Norman, Alice Diggs of Hot Springs, and Janet (Roger) Vandeest of Hatfield; his dog, Roxanne, and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

The family will be holding a memorial service on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at 4:00 PM at Norman City Hall.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home- Glenwood.
