Gary Britt Pflughaupt

Gary B. Pflughaupt, age 87, went to be with our Lord on April 29, 2026. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Mary J. "Judy" Pflughaupt.

He was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to the late Carroll and Nedrie Pflughaupt. He would leave Iowa to join the United States Air Force and be commissioned as an officer. As a navigator and pilot he would serve for 20 years with duty postings in various locations across the world. After retirement he would settle down in Sherwood, Arkansas for the next five decades where he would continue to frequently travel about with his wife.

He is survived by his son, Steven Pflughaupt, of Centerton, Arkansas; daughter Jill Hillyard, of Sherwood, Arkansas; and four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Penny Riddle of Dunedin, Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brother, Bruce Pflughaupt.

Visitation will be 10:30 - 11:30 AM Monday, May 11, 2026 followed by the Celebration of Life Service at 11:30 AM at Sylvans Hills Baptist Church.  Graveside service will be at 1:00 PM at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery with military honors from the Air Force honor guard.
