Gary Evert Sitton

Gary Evert Sitton, 87 of Haskell, Arkansas went to his heavenly home on October 21, 2023, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.  Gary was born June 27, 1936, in Harrison, Arkansas to Ancil Lee Sitton and Callie Faye (Adams) Sitton of Flag, Arkansas.  He was the third son of four boys.

Gary married the love of his life Bonnie (Bobbie) Vernelle Jones on August 19, 1960, in Little Rock, Arkansas.  They shared 51 wonderful years together until her passing December 26, 2011.  Gary was a Christian serving as a Deacon and teacher at Nalls Memorial Baptist Church in West Little Rock.  He served in the Army National Guard.  They adopted infant son Shaun Alan Sitton five days after his birth May 30, 1970, and Shaun died two days after Gary.

Gary’s hobby was Bass fishing.  He fished in many small Bass Tournaments around the area.  But he would never eat fried bass.  Gary retired after about 40 years working at MacMillan Bloedel Box Company in Little Rock.

He married his second wife, Sharon Brown on July 27, 2013.  They separated in 2015 with divorce following.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Ancil and Callie Sitton; first wife, Bonnie; newborn baby; brother Clarance Gerald Sitton and niece Callie Jo Sitton Dunn.

He is survived by two brothers, Chester (Edna) Sitton and Darrell (Gilda) Sitton, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
