Genevia Cogburn, age 93, of Glenwood, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013. She was born on August 29, 1919, at Caddo Gap, the daughter of Lawrence Ross Davis and Florence Mae Capshaw Davis. On September 23, 1937, she was married to Onis Jessie Cogburn, who preceded her in death on December 9, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Owen Davis, Ed Davis, Donald Davis and Gene Davis. She was Christian in her faith; enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, basket weaving, ceramics, gardening, growing all kinds of flowers and fishing. She was a loving mother and grandmother, whose greatest joy in life was taking care of and spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Onis James and Judy Cogburn of Mena and Jessie Owen and Sheralyn Cogburn of Fort Smith; four grandchildren and their spouses, Jamie and Kristy Cogburn of Russellville, Sylvia and Scott Perry of Frisco, Texas, Keyon and Loretta Cogburn and Patricia and Michael Jenning, all of Fort Smith; several great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Lillian "Joann" and Milton Harned of Mena; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 22, 2013, in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Big Fork with Bro. Trellis Montgomery officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
