George Howell

George Howell, born on March 12, 1948, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 26, 2022, at the age of 74.

George is preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Flora Lee Howell; two brothers, Bobby Howell and Rowland Howell; and one sister, Renia Howell.

On April 21, 1976, George married the true love of his life, Debra “Debbie” Lock.  George was a faithful member and Deacon at Salem Clark Missionary Baptist Church.  He was also a faithful and devoted husband, Dad, Pappy and friend to many.  George proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He worked at Otasco for many years before taking a leap of faith and starting his own business, Howell’s Muffler in 1986.  To this day, George, Debbie and Nathan have many loyal customers who, throughout the years, have helped their business continue to thrive.

George was a very special bright light and gracious soul on this earth, who touched many lives in so many remarkable ways and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

George leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Debbie Howell; his children and their spouses, Nathan and Casey Howell and Kinzie and Randy Bour; his most treasured gifts, his grandbabies, Gunner Bour, Avery Howell and Rhett Howell; his brother, Junior Howell; his two sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda and Ken Keener and Doris and Doug Donald; his two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Howell and Nancy Howell; his life-long special friends, Frankie Wilson, Keith Shewbart, Lloyd Halcombe and Doyce Garner; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
