George E. "Cotton" Margetson, 59, passed away in Little Rock on April 25, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born August 8, 1950 in Pine Bluff to Calvin H. and Sally Jo Young Margetson, he had a great career training, owning and transporting thoroughbred racehorses all over the United States. He was a board member of the Delaware Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association.
Preceded in death by his father, he is survived by his mother; daughter, Kristen Lynn Margetson of Plainfield, Illinois; sisters, Frances Jane Flynt of Dallas, Texas and Teresa Diane Hood of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and a host of relatives and friends.
Services will be private. Memorials may be made to Hospice Home Care, 2200 S. Bowman Rd., Little Rock, AR 72211 or to the Delaware Horsemen's Assistance Fund, 777 Delaware Park Blvd., Wilmington, DE 19804.
