George Morgan

George Earl Morgan, Sr., 91, of North Little Rock, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2008 in Haskell, Arkansas. He was born March 30, 1917 in Morland, Kansas to the late Ralph and Grace Moore Morgan. He retired after 36 years with Timex, starting in 1958 as a watch repairman. He worked as a watch repairman for twelve years before going to Timex. George answered Uncle Sam?s call in 1941 and went to the Army, where he served 4 ? years in the 635th Tank Destroyer Division and 5 campaigns at Omaha Beach, achieving the rank of sergeant at the end of his service.
He is survived by three sons, George Morgan Jr. and wife, June, Hoyt Morgan, all of Cabot and Charles Morgan and wife, Brenda, of Bryant; daughter, Juanita Tatum and husband, Alvin, of Lonoke; sister, Hazel Bates, of Kansas; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Morgan and three sisters.
A graveside service will be held 2:30 P.M., Friday at Keo Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
