George "Jim" Sanders, 78, of Hot Springs Village departed this life peacefully, on July 27 at home with his family. Jim was born July 14, 1939 to the late Rev. George J Sanders and Fannie Grandstaff Sanders. He is predeceased by his parents, his son James Madison Sanders, his brother Bill "Beans" Sanders and his sister Mary Cook.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Sanders, his brothers Don "Bucky" (Frankie) Sanders and Herschel (Wanda) Sanders, sister-in-law Judi (Beans) Sanders, his sons Doug (Nancy) Sanders, Lance Sanders, his daughter Joy Sanders and two grandchildren DJ Sanders and Omega Sanders. He is also survived by his "like my daughter" Stephanie Sanders-Riffle and many nieces and nephews who meant so much to him.
Jim was a prankster with an arsenal of funny stories and was always quick with a joke. His life's passion was music and singing. He was generous to a fault and fully understood it is better to give than receive. He will be remembered fondly by his many friends and sorely missed by his puppies Oskar, George III and Memphis.
Honorary pallbearers are Brad Cook, Wade Cook, Jeremy Riffle, John Henry, Chris Wood, Gene Johnson & Paul Parfenovich.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle, 3217 Airport Road at 2:00 PM with the Reverends Van Glidewell, Stacy Sanders and Dennis Anderson officiating.
