George H. Weekley, Jr., 88, of Little Rock, passed away June 16, 2010. Born in Portland, Kansas to the late George H. Weekley and Katherine Bishop Weekley, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired as a chemical engineer. He was a graduate of Kansas State College of Agriculture & Applied Science and a member of the Kansas State Alumni Association.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bettye Godfrey Weekley; sons, David Weekley and wife, Bonnie of Little Rock and Jerry Stewart and wife, Fern of Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren, Austin and Nate Stewart of Gunnison, Colorado, Paige Stewart of Des Moines, David Paul Weekley of Greensboro, North Carolina and Samuel George Weekley of Little Rock; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside Services with Military Honors will be Monday, June 21 at 10:00 a.m. at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, officiated by Mr. Jack Diers. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2-4 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd).
