Gerald Alan Westbrook, 71, of Benton, passed away April 1, 2022. He was bornNovember 7, 1950 in Haskell, Arkansas to the late Lilburn and Angie (Funk)Westbrook.
Gerald was a member of Mount Harmony Baptist Church. He looked forward to
spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. Gerald had a swimming pool
installed when his first grandbaby, Brooke, was two years old. He enjoyed
swimming with all his grandchildren every summer. Gerald was an avid
Razorback basketball fan. Family will always remember the once in a lifetime trip
to the National Championship Game in 1994. Gerald anxiously waited for the
newspaper to be delivered each day so he could work the crossword puzzle, as he
felt those were more difficult than ones in puzzle books.
Preceding Gerald in death are his son, Anthony “Tony” Westbrook; parents,
Lilburn and Angie Westbrook; brother, Carroll Westbrook; and three aunts:
Mildred, Myrtle, and Lily Westbrook.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of over 43 years, Janie
Westbrook of Benton, Arkansas; children: Scott Westbrook of Haskell, Arkansas
and Dedra Wood and husband Jack of Traskwood, Arkansas; five grandchildren:
Brooke Lindsey and husband Justin, Evan Williams and wife Brandi, Gabbi Wood,
Devin Westbrook, and Laiken Westbrook; five great-grandchildren: Kynsley, Kole,
Kade, Klay, and Karter; sisters: Judy Harrop and husband Gene of Springdale,
Arkansas and Gayle Mills and husband Mike of Haskell, Arkansas; and many
nieces, nephews, family members and friends who love Gerald and will miss him
always.
Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 PM, followed by funeral service, officiated
by Bro. Roy Hale, at 1:00 PM, Monday, April 4, 2022 at Smith-Benton Funeral
Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Arkansas. Burial following at Mt. Harmony
Cemetery in Haskell.
