Gheorghe I. Timofti

Gheorghe I. Timofti, born on May 20, 1931 in Romania, later emigrated to the United States, where he died on July 15, 2026, leaving behind a life marked by dedication, skill and devotion to his loved ones. 

Gheorghe’s path was guided by an early commitment to learning and craftsmanship. After four years of vocational school for fine machinery, he carved out a career filled with a remarkable array of talents. Over the years, he became recognized for his expertise in the field of fine machinery. Gheorghe’s professional journey extended to being a ballroom dance instructor in Romania, before moving to California, where he joined the Balboa Park Dancers ballroom dance club in San Diego. He was also a barber, a skilled artisan in fine jewelry repair, and a constant presence in the maintenance of production equipment.

He is survived by his sister, Migdonia Mimi Pirv, and her husband, Benjamin Pirv; nieces, Florin Pirv, Camelia Chilom, and Tania Beaman; and Great-nieces, Dianne Chilom-Wheeler, Andrea Chilom, Tatiana Goe, and Andrew Pirv.

Gheorghe now rests in peace with his beloved father, Ioan Timofti, and his mother, Lidia Orsa.

Family, friends and all those whose lives were touched by Gheorghe I. Timofti are invited to pay their respects at Smith Family Funeral Home – Hot Springs, located at 2205 Airport Road, Hot Springs, AR 71913. A vigil will be held on July 22, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a funeral service on July 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM.

Gheorghe's legacy is one of a life well lived. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by those who knew and loved him.
