Gladys "Frankie" Bylander, 81, of North Little Rock passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017. She was born May 28, 1935 in Cresco, Iowa to Otto and Irene McCarville Frank, one of fourteen children. She worked at Chicago Burlington and Quincy Railroad in Chicago. She met her husband, John there in the Windy City. Frankie and John loved to travel and went on many trips with his employer, Coca-Cola/Dr. Pepper. Frankie was very involved in her children's activities including Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, P.T.A., also the Bridge Club and the Tennis and Bowling leagues. She loved to socialize with her two Red Hat Societies, Altar Society, AARP, Sherwood Senior Center, and she loved to gamble and read.
She is survived by her children, Father Mark J. Bylander LC, Lisa A. Bylander, Amy B. Tobin (Shawn); grandchildren, John Charles, William Joseph, and Samuel Christopher Tobin; and her five siblings. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-one years, John G. Bylander and her eight siblings.
Memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Building Fund, 7000 JFK Blvd., North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116.
A visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 14th followed by a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m., at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
